El Naturalista donates 30,000 Euros to the Non-Profit Organization Amigos de Tanzania

Entrega cheque donativo 2010

El Naturalista, through the Atauchi Project, supports the construction and equiping of the Baobab Children’s Home

El Naturalista donated 30,000 Euros, which will be used to strengthen the exterior of the Baobab Children’s Home, to complete the water well, and to equip several rooms.  We will continue our collaboration by supporting volunteers to workshops held during the months of April and August, vacation time for the children at the Center.

This is El Naturlista’s second donation to the non-profit organization Amigos de Tanzania to assist with the construction of the Center and to provide a more adequate environment for the children.  In addition, we are also contributing to the Twiga Project.  This project provides training and initial financial resources to families in the Community of Maksoro (12 kilometers from the city of Arusha where the the Baobab Children´s Home is located) to develop small agricultural, textile, and handicraft businesses that will enable them to be self-sustaining.

The goal of both El Naturalista, through the Atauchi Project, and Amigos de Tanzania in supporting the Baobab Children´s Home is to foster children’s education as a means to reduce poverty.

Both entities have launched education-related projects.  The Atauchi Project has been involved in and contributing to endeavors for the education of children, including a center for abandoned children with mental disabilities in Arequipa, Peru. Amigos de Tanzania has focused its efforts on promoting education and childcare by helping in the construction of adequate learning and living environments.
