Atauchi is the expression of El Naturalista’s humanitarian spirit
The Atauchi Project is a non-profit humanitarian endeavor to care for and educate some of the world’s most needy children – the smallest, the abandoned, the poorest- who have captured the hearts of everyone at El Naturalista.
Since 2004, El Naturalista has supported two projects in Peru in coordination with the non-profit organization ProPerú ( www.properu.org.es). The first undertaking was to help rebuild several schools and to train teachers to assist the children of Chalaco, a rural area in the north of Peru.
Today our efforts are focused on building “The City of Hope”, a home for disabled and abandoned children in Arequipa. This home will provide care for 113 children. Every one of these children has moved us to both laughter and tears – Raquel with her hospitality, Jose with his smile, Anita, Jessica and Pilar with their hugs, and Juan Diego, the youngest one, with his charm. They have all become part of our El Naturalista family.
The Atauchi Project reflects El Naturalista’s social conscience and its commitment to social responsibility – it is the human face of our company’s philosophy.
Each one of them has moved us and made us laugh and cry. Thus, Raquel and her hospitality, José and his smile, Anita, Jesica and Pilar and their hugs and the smallest one, Juan Diego, are all now part of our team.
Today, more than 180,000 persons who have purchased a shoe from the Nasca collection have contributed to the construction of “The City of Hope”. From 2009, El Naturalista is increasing its commitment to the Atauchi Project. All persons purchasing shoes from our online store will also become part of this project. Also we collaborate with each pair of all collection.
The Atauchi Project is part of El Naturalista’s Department of Corporate Social Responsibility, which coordinates of the company’s humanitarian efforts.
It is important to underscore that El Naturalista, by manufacturing shoes, tries to make a better world by emphasizing human values, helping others, and caring for nature and the environment. That is why we like to say that El Naturalista has SOUL, which is reflected in the Atauchi Project and which is made possible because of the cooperation and contributions of all members of our company team.
